At Anderson Construction, we have vast experience in planning and constructing commercial buildings for a range of clients across the Peel Region of Western Australia and beyond.
All buildings and structures must comply with the requirements of the Building Code of Australia (BCA).
The BCA falls within the National Construction Code (NCC) and provides the minimum necessary requirements for safety, health, amenity and sustainability in the design and construction of new buildings throughout Australia.
At Anderson Construction, we are committed to complying with rigorous standards to not only ensure each of our buildings meets the requirements for its function and use, but also complies with all necessary construction codes.
Types of commercial buildings
In accordance with the NCC, commercial buildings usually fall under Class 7 and 8.
Anderson Construction has the knowledge, skills and experience to construct Class 7 and Class 8 commercial buildings to specification, on time and on budget.
So what do these classes mean?
Class 7 commercial buildings include car parks, warehouses or storage buildings.
This class includes two sub-classifications:
- class 7a—car parks
- class 7b—warehouses, storage buildings or buildings for the display of goods (or produce) that is for wholesale.
Class 8 commercial buildings include factories—buildings used for production, assembling, altering, repairing, finishing, packing, or cleaning of goods or produce.
It includes buildings such as a:
- mechanic’s workshop
- abattoir
- laboratory

Commercial space example
Don’t just take our word for it, take a look at some of the agile, high-quality commercial spaces we have constructed for our happy and valued customers.
Not so long ago, Anderson Construction assisted Keramos to meet the rigorous requirements for their Port Kennedy mining supplies commercial warehouse.
Keramos has experienced rapid growth since its inception in 2007 and has now become the supply company of choice for the commercial sector in Western Australia – upholding a reputation for high-quality products, competitive pricing and a commitment to service.
Keramos supplies customers across the globe and was looking to expand when it purchased a large plot of land in Port Kennedy.
While the existing offices on site were suitable to the needs of the Keramos staff, the warehouse space fell far short of expectations.
Keramos put its trust in Anderson Construction to use our 35 years of combined experience in the construction and building industry to build the new commercial space – and it has so far exceeded expectations.
The Keramos team uses the concrete tilt-panel warehouse (18x32m) primarily for storage and Anderson Construction worked in unison with them to customise the space to ensure it accommodated their personal needs.
Keramos’s managing director, Graeme Dean, said the process of constructing the commercial space with Anderson Construction went smoothly, without much impact on their ongoing operations.
“They did everything they could to make sure we could operate smoothly without too much impact. Their communication across the board was just great. I’d absolutely recommend them to anyone who asked.”
